These institutes do not take part in the central IIT JEE Advanced counselling of which all other Institutes are members. It is a rule that any student who has taken admission into IITs or ISM cannot appear for JEE-Advanced exam the next year, but this is not so for the above institutes like IISc, IISER, RGIPT and other institutes as these institutes only use JEE Advanced score for admission.

For JEE advanced applications candidates have to provide their JEE Mains roll no. and year of birth and another important criteria is that they must rank within 150,000 and only then can they apply.

The JEE Main Answer key for each set of question paper  A, B, C and D respectively have been given by various coaching Institutes as the Paper 1 for all the offline exams that take place. Also, CBSE itself releases the answer keys each year for the exams so that students can take its help.

JEE Main 2016 Exam Date, Eligibility Criteria

Joint Entrance Examination Main is the first stage for all students who are interested to take admission in NITs & IITs. Like every year this year also JEE Main 2016 will be conducted by the JEE Apex Board for admission in undergraduate engineering programmes in IITs, NITs & other state government and private institutes.

CBSE conduct JEE exam in two stages, first stage is of JEE Main 2016 Exam. Candidates who will clear this first stage will get chance to appear in JEE Advanced 2016 Examination. JEE Main 2016 exam is going to be conducted by CBSE for admissions in NITs, IITs, CFTIs & other private institutes, while JEE Advanced 2016 exam going to be organized by IIT Kharagpur.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2016 Exam

  1. Candidate minimum qualification for appearing in JEE Main 2016 exam is that candidate must passed in class XII with good percentage or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination.
  2. Candidates who appearing in class 12th can also apply for the JEE Main 2016 Examination.
  3. Important one: Candidates who passed class XII in 2013 or before are not eligible to sit in Joint Entrance Examination Main 2016, only candidates passed in 2014, 2015 or 2016 are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2016 & JEE Advanced 2016.
  4. Important: Candidates can give JEE Main exam maximum of thrice.
  5. Age Limit: Candidates date of birth should be on or after 1 October 1991, 5 year relaxation for candidates belong to SC/ST/PWD category.

Candidates selection will be depend on JEE Main 2016 All India Rank & their 12th class total score. Merit list shall be prepared on the basis of 40% weightage to school boards marks in class XII OR equivalent examination and 60% weightage to JEE Main All India Rank. Selection will done in the ratio of 60:40.
